- Dunno, but I would really like some of that junky looking stuff in the game. I like the junk car and the tire pile, and I really like the jaggedy fence. I wouldn't mind a stuff pack with some less fancy items.Visit me in the gallery! CC-free builds under origin name Piperbird!

Well if it is true, than it does kind of matter. Because it further proves the Sims 4 was originally not a sequel to The Sims 3, which explains a lot.
We already have confirmation it was a spin off, online, and with a Story Mode. But to know exactly what the Spin Off was, gives us more information about what the game was trying to be originally, and helps players understand how the game is being turned around - edited March 2016Dunno, but I would really like some of that junky looking stuff in the game. Also don't know and never played Bustin Out so I wouldn't have much input on that.
BUT I am SO on board with the idea of getting a junk SP for some grungy stuff.

I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning psychopath. Reaper - The Sims 4 was already confirmed to have began life as an MMO. It was not originally designed as a sequel to Sims 3. It was also heavily influenced by MySims. I also agree that it's hard to ignore the general feel and look that the Sims 4 has in common with Bust'n Out, however I think this is all primarily due to the influence of MySims on The Sims 4 design. What's the deal with the creepy Sim in the yellow shirt, and glasses? The one right up there! I'm guessing what ever he is it starts with 'serial'.

- This is actually really interesting because there are just so many coincidences! However, even if the game wasn't meant to be a 'sequel', I think they used some of those elements/inspiration from 'Bustin' Out'.
- I love the concept arts. very beautiful
As for TS4 being or not being a sequel to TS3 I would say it does not matter because I love TS4 way more than TS3
I'm just hoping the developers will put more effort into making some good EPs and give the players what they are asking for.Everything I post is an opinion here and I think every post of others is as well. - In that case, i hope sims 5 wasn't made as a spin off, but as an actual sequel so that it would have much lots of features added into the game.6
- I said quite some time back that 4 gives off a very strong Bustin' Out vibe. The way the sims and objects highlight when you mouse over them. The way achievements pop up. Definitely Dudley's trailer. These pics you just posted really enforce that feeling. I loved Bustin' Out and can't even begin to guess at the countless hours I spent playing that game, it was freaking awesome. I'd probably still be playing it if I still had the Playstation2. Lots of interesting info, it does explain a lot as far as why 4 is the way that it is.

Good point.GALLERY | TS4 FAMILY TREE - edited March 2016This is not rumour, it's speculation.
But i wouldn't be surprised.0 - I feel a lot of Sims Bustin Out and MySims vibes from TS4
I feel like it's leaning towards to Bustin Out with some of the decor and objects0 - Honestly I had never thought about it, but plum would I love another game like The Sims Bustin' Out on the console. The Sims 3 on console was probably the most disappointing out of all the console series. I generally enjoy all of the console Sims games because they have the goals and story.
Interesting theory though. Maybe we might get a console game similar to Bustin' Out in the future?0 - 0
- edited March 2016No, it was to be a Sim Social/Sims online sequel. imo7

- Man, I miss Bustin' Out. I remember playing it on my friend's GameBoy Advance when we were on the bus for a school field trip.1
- I don't see how this is a rumor. Maybe Johnny Zest was supposed to be Dudley Landgraab. He did change his name.
- No, it was to be a Sim Social/Sims online sequel. imo
But maybe on console online. And why it looks strangely familiar.'Games Are Not The Place To Tell Stories, Games Are Meant To Let People Tell Their Own Stories'..Will Wright.
The Sims Life Simulator Is Dead - edited March 2016I suspect it was going to be a more PC oriented version of Freeplay, but without the real life time limits that encourage you to pay real money out the wahzoo...all online, multiplayer, which I suspect is why they had to standardize so much of the game, no CAST, no editable worlds, why it's so limited what players can do..everything had to match up with everyone's system, except whatever DLC one person had that another didn't have, would just show up as base game objects to whomever didn't have it.)It's kind of sad that I have to point out that anything I say is only just my opinion and may be a different one from someone else.

I think the way the districts divided was so you could play in groups and everyone live in the same little area and they had to somehow get those to look more like PC games than they would for multiplayer.'Games Are Not The Place To Tell Stories, Games Are Meant To Let People Tell Their Own Stories'..Will Wright.

That's interesting but Dudley is Malcolm's son, and Malcolm starts Sims 4 as a teen, right? Younger than Johnny and also obviously. unable to be his dad lol
I definitely see the influence from Bustin' Out in Sims 4 but it's not a 'sequel' as the timelines are messed up lol. Malcolm is an adult in Bustin Out. And he's Mimi and Dudley's dad (I recreated them in Sims 4 as his kids lol)
I just bought a new PS2 recently so I could replay Bustin' Out as it's one of my favourite games. It's so fun. I love Bella and Mortimer in it, with their huge piano thing that they play ALL NIGHT and the seancé table. Such a good game If we get anymore Sims games on console I hope they're more like that, or The Urbz. Sims 3 on console really didn't work for me. Barely worked on PC either but you know what I'm saying :P0 - Well, they are related but the game doesn't say how. Plus he isn't included on the family tree. Maybe he traveled back in time.

But I have noticed that a lot of the sims 4 couples are mixed. I've also noticed that that has been my play style since TS2. I like to mix my families up and see how well the family tree blends. If that makes since. Right now my favorite sim is the one in my profile picture. She is married to a another sim a little lighter than her but somehow both of their children were born with blond hair. I have a Latina sim and a mixed couple. ( I really only play with families) I also I have a house full of teens who are from different countries. They are the Home For Gifted Teens on the gallery if you want to take a peek. Lol
- I'm Asian but all of the sims I create are Caucasian (or maybe American since they sorta have an American accent. XD) I also let all the townies the game generates be, so there's some other ethnicity that my sims can hang out with.
Nice, , I never noticed before but I think your right, the sims do have a vague american accent. I guess I'm just so used to it with all the american TV I didn't notice.
Yeah, it could also be that I have a general perception that the game is mainly made in the US, so automatically all the voices sound American. :P
I'm terrible with accents so unless it is a really strong accent (e.g. posh british) then I've got a high chance of getting it wrong.
Anybody, who is good with accents, my question to you is does the simlish have an American accent?
Now that you mention. They do sound American a little. Although it's Simlish so maybe it has it's own accent. - Mine are usually all american, most being white, then black, asian and hispanic. Which is what its like in my community irl.My sim history: The sims (PC).The sims 2 (PC).The sims (Gamecube). The sims (DS).The sims castaway (DS).MySims (DS).The sims 2 pets (Gamecube). The sims 3 (Xbox). The sims 3 pets (PS3). The Urbz Sims (Gamecube). The Sims Bustin Out (Gamecube).
- I'm a 'B' mostly. Most of my sims fall somewhere into the mix of Pacific Island, Maori, White New Zealanders, Chinese, Japanese, Korean with a few Indian. Basically just what I'd see as I walked around my city. I do tend to download a whole heap of my own townies and place them into houses but as my game progress (I play with aging on mostly) this changes as sims move in and others die etc. Sometimes I try to give them a mixed heritage background like Scottish-Pacific Islander or Irish Chinese as this is pretty typical, but I got bored with writing all the bios so it's all just in my head now!
If I don't play this way then I'm playing for drama and use loads of aliens and ghosts etc (longing for nutty supernaturals to throw into the mayhem too).I'm a girl who likes to play with boys, what can I say..
“Instead of putting players in the role of Luke Skywalker, or Frodo Baggins, I'd rather put them in the role of George Lucas.”Will Wright. - Mostly Caucasian and Asian.
There's not enough ethic hairstyles to motivate me to even make African descent looking sims. It's absolutely ridiculous the lack of curly modern hairstyles. I tried making a African dude but he ended up looking Indian, so yeah go figure. Not really into CC though. Anyways.
.
Sims Studio: Not all black people rock cornrolls and 'Different Strokes' Afros. Buy a copy of 'Ebony' and learn something. - Most of the sims I play are white (since I rotate between households of my legacy whose founders were white) but I like to change that. Now I have some black and asian (specially Japanese) sims in my family because some sims from my 3rd generation married black or Japanese women.
Also one of my sims from my 5th generation married a Japanese descendent girl and had a baby with her I'm waiting to see how she (and the alien baby he had a few hours later) will look like.
His grandma was the black girl that married the 3rd gen guy, but their first son (and his father) was born with light skin.GALLERY | TS4 FAMILY TREE - I have a lot of sims of colour in all my games, but especially my legacy, where I marry in sims of all the colours of the rainbow to experiment with the genetics. So sure, you get things like ginger hair with the darkest skintone sometimes, but for the most part, all my biracial sims turn out beyond beautiful!

Thank you!!0 - edited March 2016I usually end up making a lot of black sims without realising, I feel like I've seen so many european sims on the gallery it gets a bit boring lol
, From tumblr and the forums I know there are heaps of really good sims on the gallery, but sometimes they get a little drowned out and can be hard to find on the gallery.1 - I try to adjust my game so that it is a mix of different ethnicities and if it seems to get overbalanced on just one type, I'll make some changes. I don't really plan things at the beginning though. I've got a few different games going and often just let random events decide on families. Though the idea of planning is interesting.
- My sims do have some ethnic back grounds yes
one family I have is French.
another is Greek, Italian, Native American
one is Irish, french, and Cameroon
and lastly one family is Spanish, Brazilian, and Caribbean.
and I mainly just organize it by last name, but my sims aren't random.
I tend to keep Willow Creek/Magnolia Promenade = New Orleans; Oasis Springs = Palm Springs; and Windenburg = France/Germany.
but since it is the sims 4, play as if they just moved to town. All I need in the Sims is Magic, Seasons, Survival, Adventure
This is Magic: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/771995/the-sims-4-magic-is-coming-updated/p1 - So this made me really interested in the sims i create's ethnicity/race mix up so I tallied up the folks in my library that I created.
Final Tally is:
14-White
4-Hispanic
1-Native American
5-Asian
4-Black
5-Indian
1-Mediterranean
2-Aliens
4-1/2 Asian and 1/2 White
3-1/2 Native American and 1/2 Hispanic
Also if anyone finds it relevant I'm white.
What exactly is defined as hispanic? Having hispanic names or what? I am latina (Brazilian) so I guess all my sims are latinos (? or maybe not?)GALLERY | TS4 FAMILY TREE - @MasonGamer I'm curious to see how the Brazilian family looks and their names!GALLERY | TS4 FAMILY TREE

I play in rotation between several different groups and my sims are very diverse. I get bored with the game when all my sims look the same. The group in my sig are Creole, Jamaican, and Taiwanese. In another group of guys I play they are Trinidadian, Taiwanese (brother of girl in my sig), Irish, and Saudi Arabian. I may add a Brazilian soon.2 - My Sims are mostly 'white', but only because I only really like one skin tone on my Sims.. the warm coloured one that looks a little Hispanic. I don't like the super pale skin tones, I rarely use them. I have a few darker-skinned Sims because I like to create a mix of skin tones with their offspring. I like to make a few Asian Sims as well because they're offspring always seem to be super cute in my game. If I'm being completely honest though, I NEVER think about what ethnicity they are. They're just my Sims, and I don't really care, as long as I'm happy with them.

I'm still blown away by Lily Ford. When I saw her I had to download her.0
A. Do you not at all notice or care and make sims completely randomly?
B. Try and replicate your home country? Or maybe another country (planet?)
C. Do you have a mix of backgrounds for your sims?
D. Do most of your sims look the same? If so how do they look? (E.g are they all siaxiam sims, all Japanse or all Italian?)
Also, I know different countries have different issues related to this top, but let's please not bring them to this discussion. We are all simmers and we are from all parts of the world
I guess I'm mostly A. I'm not all that bothered about particular ethnicities or skin colours, I make all sorts of sims and they tend to marry/ procreate with sims of a different skin tone, I like to see what the genetics come up with!0- edited March 2016I have an Indian family in my game. I also have a few Sims of Arabic origin with Arabic names0
- I haven't given this much thought.. But I do tend to make my Sims diverse much like the world we live in! For creating, I generally hit the random dice a few times until I find a Sim that catches my eye and then modify as I see fit.
- 0
- Mine sims are diverse. I love making legacies, and I find it fun to mix up genetics - which is why having a rich mix of Sims based on various ethnicities is so useful.
Also clamouring for more Afro-Caribbean hairstyles, but I've been finding nice custom made ones so it's ok.
